DIY Storage Cork Jar

DIY Storage Cork Jar

I wonder what do you think of cork in interiors? I’m asking because I know people who either totally love it…or totally hate it.

cork 1a (1 of 1)If you follow recent design trends, or visit Ikea once in a while (we all do), I’m sure you have noticed many products having cork elements for example kitchenware or office containers. In fact some new collections are being entirely made of cork including stools, benches or tables as I showed you the pictures from the Ikea’s showroom in Milan.

I think it might be not the most ‘beautiful’ material out there (think of marble or granite), but it adds interesting texture. Extracted from the Mediterranean oak trees, it does look very casual, plus it’s really fun to experiment with. I have tried to transform old boring container into a pinky one with a cork lid and I guess it worked. The only supplies I used for this projects were: spray paint, craft knife and cork found in my local hardware store.

No dirty job guys, you’ve got to try!

Have you tried any cork DIY recently? Since I have still a lot of cork left, I would be happy to try something fun. But now I’m going back to pre-Easter cleaning… good times.

Have a great weekend!

So funny you mentioned IKEA – I almost bought a water pitcher from IKEA that had a cork top, but I add lemon to my water and I was worried that the cork would end up absorbing the scent lol. Love this – really want to incorporate cork into a Spring DIY <3
