DIY Easy Pom-Pom Blanket

DIY Easy Pom-Pom Blanket

Sometimes, you only need two words to get a smile on your face.

If you don’t know by now, I’m slightly obsessed with their texture, playful shape and softness, to the extent that if I could, I would attach it to every possible thing or living being at home. The only reason why I don’t do this, is a risk of becoming instantly homeless (together with all my pom poms!). Pssst: Think twice before moving in with a guy.

After crushing on the blankets, finished with the fluffy balls, seen around the internet, I knew I had to attempt to DIY one and when would be a better time than the winter season? Just imagine… long, cold evenings, spent on the sofa wrapped up in your new soft cover, drinking mulled wine and reading a book. Sounds like a perfect plan to me!

If you’ve never made pom poms yourself, you will be surprised how easy it is, using this simple method. You can find full tutorial, I have shared on Homedit here.

And this is the result! Lovely right? I have used a basic Ikea blanket for this project so I guess we can call it a little Ikea hack too 🙂

Have a great day all!

Cute! It does add a sense of coziness 🙂 I have a few old blankets lying around that could use a little jazzing up. I must know, where can I find that mountain print in the first picture, if you don’t mind sharing? It’s divine!

Yes, sure! It’s one of my favourite prints, designed by Sarah from Coco Lapine Design. You can get it directly from her shop here:

Thanks Michelle 🙂 That’s exactly how I came up with this pom-pom idea, I had an old Ikea blanket and had to jazz it up a little 😉 I would love to see what you come up with. Have a great evening xo

Oh this is such a fun DIY – I love it!

Thank you Gabi 🙂 I have to say I quite like it too 🙂 Have a beautiful Sudnay xo

Oohhh I’m loving pom-pom inspiration too at the moment! What a great idea to add them to a simple Ikea blanket.

Question! How does one wash a blanket if you’ve added poms?

I wash it all together with the poms 🙂
