Love, flowers and hearts – that’s what V-day is all about. Even though a lot of us associate 14th of February with big, red hearts it’s not the only way to style this special day. In fact, I would rather not go in this direction, at least not this year! We’ve had Valentine’s day moments, when I would take an entire day off at work to turn our home into a massive (48sqm) Valentine’s headquarter filled with hearts, chocolate fountains, first-time cooked, spectacular in theory (not so much in reality) food and airy, fabric installed above the table, waiting for the arrival of my second half. And what an arrival it was! Dressed in musketeer costume, holding a princess outfit for me in one hand, and thousands of balloons in the other. I’m not joking – those days were insane! So don’t get me wrong, we do big, red stuff too, just not this year… not sure about the next one either.
If you are like me, into minimal, delicate decorations, think of simple details, most of the time you can create something cute out of things you already have at home. Here’s are two DIY ideas I made this year, I hope you will like them!
DIY Gold Wire Napkin Ring
Wrap the wire around the napkin and ben its end in the shape of the heart! It’s a super cute, last minute element you can do just before the arrival of your loved one.
DIY Love Gift Tags
You don’t need to be a calligraphy pro to write ‘love’ in your favourite font. Find the font online and copy it, letter by letter. Be patient, the second one will be perfect! Add your lip print to the second tag to create a mini-set.
What are your plans for Valentine’s day? Are you going for a full, red look or staying on the minimal side?
